Here an even nastier secret: Manufacturers are lying about the amount of sugar they put in their products. But breaking into the Latin music business can be a daunting task for a solo artist. Ren had a plan, though. “When I was 11 years old, I was doing voice overs for radio commercials, and by chance, [producer] Emilo Estefan happened to be there in the studio,” he recalls.
My Romanian friend told me to put the grains into a jug of fresh milk and let it sit for a couple of days in a warm place, with the top on but not tight. The kefir grains eat up the lactose (the sugar that’s in milk) and slowly get bigger. Because the organisms consume the lactose, sometimes people who are lactose intolerant can drink kefir just fine!.
